Conditions

    General Condition
    • Your Austria Pass needs to be activated within 6 months of the issuing date.
    • Children under 12 years of age travel free if accompanied by an adult. Maximum 2 children per adult.
      As a rail pass will still be issued for them, please make sure you include them in your booking.
      However they would have to pay for seat / berth reservations if travelling on a train where reservation is compulsory.
    • Youth Pass is valid for individuals under 28 yrs on first date of travel.
    • Austrian Rail Passes can NOT be used by European residents.
    • Cancellation fee for totally unutilised passes: minimum of 15%
    Using your Austrian pass:
    • All parties must be present when validating a Austria Pass.
    • You must get your pass validated prior to your first train journey by a railway official in Austria (at the railway station).
    • All persons using a Austria pass must correctly enter the date of travel before boarding the first train/ship, in the corresponding box of the calendar.
    Following the 7:00 pm rule:
    • This rule is applicable to flexi pass users.
    • The arrival date should be within the validity of the pass.
    • You must enter only the arrival date into the calendar box on your pass if you board a night train that departs after 7 p.m. (19:00) and arrives after 4 a.m.
    • You must enter both the departure & the arrival date into the calendar boxes on your pass if you board a night train that departs before or after 7 p.m. (19:00) and arrives before 4 a.m.
